Official Tournament Rules
Last updated: June 23, 2026
These Official Rules govern paid-entry, cash-prize volleyball tournaments hosted through the CourtKing app. No purchase is a wager. Winners are determined solely by skill. Void where prohibited.
1. Operator
CourtKing ("CourtKing," "we," "us") operates a platform that lets tournament organizers ("Organizers") create and manage real-world volleyball tournaments, collect entry fees, and pay cash prizes to winning participants. Payments and payouts are processed by Stripe, Inc. via Stripe Connect. CourtKing provides the software, payment processing, and prize-distribution tools; it does not control the conduct of play at any tournament. Contact: support@courtking.fun · 141 Sunset Drive, Longwood, FL 32750.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your state, if greater).
- You must be a legal resident of the United States, physically located in an Eligible State at the time of entry.
- To receive prizes, you must have a valid Stripe payout method and provide required tax information.
- Employees of CourtKing and their household members are not eligible to win cash prizes in CourtKing-operated tournaments.
3. Eligible States
Paid-entry, cash-prize tournaments are not available to residents of, or persons located in, the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Louisiana, Montana, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Tennessee. CourtKing may update this list at any time to comply with applicable law, and enforces these restrictions at sign-up and at entry.
4. Skill, Not Chance
All CourtKing tournaments are bona fide contests of skill. Outcomes are determined exclusively by participants' athletic performance in real-world volleyball matches (scoring, match results, and final bracket placement). No element of the prize outcome depends on chance. CourtKing tournaments are not lotteries, sweepstakes, sports wagering, or games of chance.
5. How to Enter
- Browse available tournaments in the CourtKing app.
- Select a tournament and pay the Entry Fee set by that tournament's Organizer (for example, $100).
- Entry is confirmed only after the Entry Fee payment is successfully processed through Stripe.
- You must comply with each tournament's format, schedule, and venue rules as published by the Organizer.
6. Entry Fees, Prize Pool & Payouts
- Entry Fee: set by the Organizer per tournament (e.g., $100).
- Cash Prizes: set by the Organizer and shown on each tournament's listing before you pay (example structure: 1st place $500, 2nd place $300, 3rd place $100).
- Platform Fee: CourtKing retains a service fee of 10% of each tournament's entry-fee pool. The fee and resulting Organizer proceeds are displayed at tournament creation.
- Payout: prizes are paid to winners through Stripe Connect after results are finalized. Winners must have a valid Stripe payout method and have provided required tax information before a payout is released.
- Prizes are paid only in the stated cash amount, with no substitution, and are non-transferable.
7. Winner Determination & Disputes
Winners are the participants or teams finishing in the paid placement positions according to the official final results recorded by the Organizer in the CourtKing app. The Organizer is responsible for accurately recording results; on-site disputes should first be raised with the Organizer. CourtKing may hold a payout pending resolution of a bona fide dispute, and may disqualify any participant who violates these Rules, a tournament's published rules, or engages in cheating, collusion, fraud, or unsporting conduct.
8. Taxes
Cash prizes are taxable income. Winners are solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on prizes received. Where required by law, CourtKing and/or Stripe will collect tax information (e.g., IRS Form W-9) before releasing a payout and will issue tax forms (e.g., Form 1099-MISC / 1099-K) for prizes meeting IRS reporting thresholds (generally $600 or more in a calendar year). Failure to provide required tax information may delay or forfeit a payout.
9. Refunds & Cancellations
If a tournament is canceled before it begins, paid Entry Fees are refunded through Stripe to the original payment method. Entry Fees are non-refundable once play has started. Player-initiated withdrawals are refundable up to 48 hours before the tournament's scheduled start time; withdrawals within 48 hours of start are not refundable.
10. Conduct, Safety & Assumption of Risk
Volleyball is a physical activity. Participants enter at their own risk and are responsible for their own health, safety, insurance, and equipment. By entering, you release CourtKing from liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising from participation, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Platform Role & Limitation of Liability
CourtKing provides a platform and payment tools only and is not responsible for the conduct of Organizers or participants, venue conditions, or the accuracy of results recorded by Organizers, except as expressly stated. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CourtKing's total liability arising from these Rules or any tournament is limited to the amount of fees you paid for the tournament at issue.
12. Governing Law
These Rules are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Your use of CourtKing is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes & Contact
CourtKing may modify these Rules at any time; material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Questions about these Rules or a specific tournament: support@courtking.fun.
Cash prizes are awarded based solely on skill in real-world volleyball competition. CourtKing tournaments are not gambling. Paid-entry cash tournaments are offered only in Eligible States to participants 18 and older.
